Karhula Pump Factory is part of Sulzer Pumps Finland Oy, manufacturing pre-engineered pumps and agitators for Pulp and Paper, General, Chemical Processing, Power Generation, Water and Wastewater, and Oil and Gas industries.

In the facility we have state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and machines. Main customers are the OEMs and major end-users serving these different industries. Our Quality, Safety and Health and Environmental systems are approved and audited by Det Norske Veritas.

Karhula Foundry

Karhula Foundry

Part of Sulzer Pumps Finland Oy, the Karhula Foundry is one of the world’s largest foundries focused on steel and special cast iron pump- and agitator castings. The foundry primarily supplies castings to Sulzer Pumps’ factories in Finland, Germany, the U.K. and the U.S.

The casting patterns are manufactured using a high-speed five-axis machining center. Of the total annual production, 85 percent are made of duplex or super duplex grade steel using AOD converter (Argon-Oxygen-Decarburization).Casting molds are created using a method based on a resin-bonded sand or Replicast® Ceramic Shell molding. The net weights of castings range from 0,5 kg to 15000 kg.

The Karhula Foundry applies Safety, Quality and Environmental systems approved by DNV.
