After receiving and disassembling an item of equipment into one of our service centres, or alternatively attending site to do the work, a full report of the machines condition will be produced. When repairing a machine to ‘as new’ condition the following points are addressed
• Overall condition
• Detailed examination of all critical parts and their condition
• List of parts suitable for re-use or refurbishment
• List of parts to be replaced
• Estimate of time and cost of work needed
Advanced repair services
Sometimes though even the best ‘as new’ repair does not solve a recurring problem. Users often find themselves having to repair certain items of rotating equipment at a higher frequency than would expected. This is usually because of a combination of design, operation and system factors and, if left unaddressed, poor performance risks becoming the norm with obvious implications for efficiency and productivity.
In such situations we go beyond the norm with our advanced repair service. Our engineers are able to draw on extensive machine, system and process knowledge from within all Sulzer Pumps facilities. Where we find a repair is due to more than expected wear and tear we also include the following
• Description of the background reasons for failure or loss of performance
• Proposals for materials or design upgrades
• Recommendations for process or operational changes if applicable
• Recommendations for changes in operation and maintenance procedures
• Jointly discuss with you the best measures to take to avoid premature need for repair in future
Our aim is to give you, our customer, maximum value from the repair process, enabling you to expect measurable improvements in your equipments performance and efficiency when we return it to service.
